Accessible Sophistication: Georgetown Tub-to-Shower Conversion
The Project Vision
Located in the heart of Georgetown, this bathroom remodel was driven by a need for enhanced accessibility and refined aesthetics. The primary goal was to assist a client’s elderly mother by removing a restrictive bathtub and replacing it with a barrier-free walk-in shower, ensuring a safer and more independent daily routine.
The Technical Challenge
Converting a standard tub space into a functional walk-in shower required significant structural and mechanical intervention. After stripping the area to the framing, our team meticulously re-organized the existing plumbing to accommodate the new drainage requirements and shower valve placement. We utilized high-quality waterproof backing and precision-leveled the floor to ensure perfect drainage and a seamless transition from the bathroom floor into the shower area.
The Craft and Result
The installation featured high-end tile work and modern fixtures selected for both their durability and ease of use. By prioritizing 'Aging in Place' design principles, we created a space that does not sacrifice style for functionality. The final result is a bright, airy, and safe environment that provides peace of mind for the family while significantly elevating the home's value.
